TerraCycle Inc - My kind of company

If there was ever a company to really respect and admire it would have to be TerraCycle Inc. I have been kind of passively on-the-lookout for their product after hearing about their legal battle with lawn care giant Scotts/Miracle-Gro a couple of years ago. I finally stumbled upon it hidden amongst the racks of big name lawn care brands at my local big box store. After seeing their signature recycled soda bottle containers and jumbo "worm poop" lettering, I couldn't resist trying their liquid lawn fertilizer.

TerraCycle seems to be nothing less than the purest, safest, most natural, organic fertilizer there is. Worm castings and organic matter are the very stuff that grows most of the plants on this planet. It's safe to handle and apply. It's safe for children and pets, and doesn't pollute rivers or streams. On top of that, they use recycled soda bottles as containers, and over-stock spray nozzles and mis-printed boxes from other companies. The entire product is made of garbage!

Branching out from worm poop plant food, TerraCycle now makes bags from drink pouches, natural cleaning products, and soda bottle bird feeders, among other eco-friendly products.

My family enjoys vermi-composting, so I'm sold on the worm poop. I also love the recycling aspect of their shipping and packaging. I'm also a sucker for a good "us versus them" story and their little scuffle with Scotts/Miracle-Gro proved that TerraCycle is a company that won't be kicked around by it's much larger competitor. It's a brilliant company started by a couple of cool, determined kids and I wish them a lasting success (as long as they don't sell out to "the man").
