Consider the reel mower

Reel mowers are making a bit of a comeback lately. No longer are they thought of as that rusted relic in the back of the shed, reel mowers are now sought after for their ease of maintenance and environmentally friendly power source - you.

If the idea of not having to store fuel or maintain an engine doesn't seal the deal, the quality of cut with a reel mower just might do it. Typical rotary mowers tend to thrash the grass, even more-so as the blades become dull while reel mowers provide a shearing, scissor-like cut resulting in less turf injury and a healthier lawn.

There are some limitations especially with some of the larger suburban lawns where pushing a reel mower may be more work than one bargained for. Reel mowers also do not do so well on bumpy surfaces or long grass, so it might not be the best mower for everybody.

Save money on the mower and gas, eliminate a trip to the gym, and do your lawn a favor all at the same time! Sounds like a winner to me.

Great for the environment and your health! But if you’re looking to be great for the environment and can’t do it yourself, hire a sustainable lawn care company. There are new companies now offering environmentally friendly lawn care service without the pollution created by traditional gas crews. Clean Air Lawn Care is one such company and has locations all across the country. Check the website for a location near you: http://cleanairlawncare.com/locations.html

They use rechargeable equipment powered by a solar charging station mounted on their trucks. Pollution free service and 50% less noise too!
