Definition: Photosynthesis is a biochemical process in which green plants use sunlight to synthesize food from carbon dioxide and water. It takes place in the chloroplasts of plant cell, involves the green pigment chlorophyll and generates oxygen as a byproduct.
Also Known As: chemical equation: 6CO2 + 12H2O -----> (C6H12O6 + 6H2O + 6O2)
